Hello, I am Swanand, a design systems lead working from Halifax, Canada. For the past few years, I have been steering a multi-brand design system and shaping the culture of shipping better products at Resmed RCS.

I started my career in consulting, which gave me a beginner's mindset I have carried across industries and countries. Every engagement was technically and culturally different, but each experience has shaped how I think about design, technology, and the relationship between the two. Much of my career has been spent in highly regulated environments where ambiguity carries real cost. That constraint shaped how I think about rigour and shipping things responsibly.

I became a designer because I like to solve hard but meaningful problems. My design systems work began after witnessing persistent design-to-code drift across product teams. That wide and deep problem called for a systems-level solution, and the work since has moved things in ways I am genuinely proud of.

Outside of work, my interests are varied. I am drawn to brands like Muji, Casio, and Sony because they share that same belief in form follows function. I find satisfaction in simple things - baking bread and biscotti for my family, reading books for knowledge, and finding any excuse to brew coffee on my V60. These habits, I think, shape how I approach work and life.
